Dynasty, ER Actor James Farentino Dies at 73

Dynasty, ER Actor James Farentino Dies at 73, Hollywood is mourning the loss of veteran TV actor James Farentino, who passed away Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a lengthy illness, a family spokesman told the Los Angeles Times. He was 73.

Leaving a legacy of nearly 100 TV credits to his name, Farentino was best known for his recurring roles on shows including Dynasty and Blue Thunder.

In 1996, Farentino appeared in a three-episode arc as Ray Ross, the father of George Clooney's character, Dr. Doug Ross. His most recent film appearance was in 2006's Drive/II.

Farentino is survived by his fourth wife, Stella, and two sons, David and Saverio.
