Donning a daring see-through dress that couldn't be missed on the red carpet, Fergie lived up to her fashion-risking reputation. The Black Eyed Peas songstress brought bold color to the red carpet at tonight's Grammy Awards, opting for an orange couture gown flown in from Paris. The Jean Paul Gaultier frock left little to the imagination, revealing a set of black undergarments underneath. Even Ryan Seacrest admitted he couldn't quite figure it out.

Fergie explained to the E! interviewer that she had dress options and claimed that she opted for the tamer one. "I had two choices. This was the safe one! Mom's here." With that, she brought her mom over to shed more light on her choice. Fergie's mom said she advised her daughter to "pick the more conservative one,” but that her daughter is always a "rock and roll rebel." Picking the dress must have been a family affair, because Fergie mentioned that husband Josh Duhamel also loved the dress.

As for how she got in shape to wear the sheer selection, Fergie credits juicing and having her meals delivered. The regimen paid off, since fashion commentators Kelly Osbourne and Ross Mathews noted that although her panties looked like they were control-top, she certainly didn't need it. They even nicknamed the underpants "Grammy panties."
