Kate Gosselin: ‘I’m So Lonely’

Kate Gosselin: ‘I’m So Lonely’

Kate Gosselin: ‘I’m So Lonely’, It's Kate minus a date! Mom-of-eight Kate Gosselin broke down crying in a new interview which aired Wednesday on "Dr. Drew's Lifechangers" about how sad she has been without a significant other since her divorce nearly three years ago. Clutching the TV doc's hand, Gosselin tearfully revealed it's been tough caring for her large brood -- 11-year-old twins and 7-year-old sextuplets -- by herself without the support of a partner.

"The odds are so against me, one mom and eight kids … so it would be great. I mean, I'm so lonely. I clean up the house, put the kids to bed and there I sit. Ideally I would find that person."

But the 36-year-old former reality star knows finding a man willing to take on the responsibility of eight children -- and a woman who must divide her time equally between them and himself -- is nearly impossible. "I think a lot of my friends who are being constructive say , Gosh, who are you going to meet that is going to be able to deal with eight kids?'" Gosselin told Dr. Drew. "My answer is always if they can deal with eight kids in our situation it probably will be the person. It will sort of prove it."

The only man in her life since she split from husband-of-10-years Jon in June 2009 has been her bodyguard, Steve Neild. Whether it's a book signing, TV appearance, or just a jaunt to the grocery store, the silver-haired hunk has always been there -- and that has caused a lot of people, including her ex-husband, to wonder if there's something more going on. Gosselin and the married Neild have always insisted they were nothing more than professional. Still, fans of TLC's "Kate Plus 8" watched as he did often help her co-parent, whether it was passing out lunches, playing with the kids in the backyard, or wiping away tears. And Gosselin says sometimes, that's all she needs. "The most I would want out of someone, honestly," she told Dr. Drew, "is to stand there and say, 'Did you just hear what your mother said?'"

Although that sounds like she wants more of a father-figure for her kids than a love interest for herself, Gosselin insists she doesn't expect a man to come in and be responsible for all nine of them. "I think a lot of people mistake that and think someone is going to come in and help you co-parent eight kids. How do you expect that? I don't. I mean, I don't expect someone to come in and financially provide for my kids, I mean, they're mine, that's my job."

But now that Jon is single again, perhaps Kate should take him back? On second thought, maybe not.
