New role for Streep's look-alike daughter, TV's Next Generation: Actors With Famous Folks, Mamie Gummer is heading to a hit show — and she isn't the only TV star with famous folks. Mamie Gummer, Famous Family: Meryl Streep, mother. Breaking Out on TV: Mamie Gummer might not be a household name (yet) but her mom, Meryl Streep, sure is. The 28-year-old, currently guest starring in multi-episode arcs as a lawyer on CBS's "The Good Wife," has been cast as the lead in the new CW series “First Cut." She'll be playing a doctor fresh out of medical school who quickly figures out that working at a hospital is just like attending high school. This project will be Gummer's second medical drama -- she also starred in ABC's now-canceled "Off the Map."
