Rashida Jones revealed last year that she was a "born nerd," and now we have proof. A newly surfaced vintage photo of the "Parks and Recreation" star shows her as a plain-Jane high-schooler, light years away from the small-screen babe we know today.

The teen version of the 36-year-old actress sports unkempt eyebrows, unstyled hair, and what appears to be a mouthful of braces.

"I came out of the womb reading books and thinking about my next project," Jones told Playboy in 2011. "There's also this thing of wanting to make your parents proud."

That includes saving "the bad stuff" for her years at -- surprise, surprise -- Harvard University.

"In high school I never drank, I never smoked, I never smoked weed," Jones said. "I was president of the varsity club and was on the math team and then student government. I was in every activity."

Though she looks every bit the red carpet maven these days, Jones claims she has still "nerded out" on occasion.

"My activities tend to revolve around crossword puzzles, reading and playing piano and games with my friends," she said.
