Player rips own tooth out, keeps playing

Player rips own tooth out, keeps playing, DTotD: APOEL’s Paulo Jorge gets teeth knocked out by teammate’s back, A violent collision sends two of Paulo Jorge's teeth flying during a big soccer match. Real Madrid beat APOEL Nicosia 5-2 in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal to advance by a comfortable 8-2 margin. Though the Man of the Match award surely went to a Real player, the most hardcore footballer of the day honor goes to APOEL defender Paulo Jorge.

A challenge from Cristiano Ronaldo launched Paulo into the back of teammate William Boaventura and he hit face first, launching a couple of teeth out of his mouth. Apparently one of the teeth that didn't shoot out of his head was a little too loose for his liking, so while the team doctor tended to him, he decided to yank that sucker out and angrily chuck it on the ground before spitting out some blood and getting on with the match.

Looks like Paulo Jorge might have a future in dentistry after he retires from the game.
