Soccer player scores on rare scorpion kick
Soccer player scores on rare scorpion kick, Confidently named Bolivians defeated by awesome 20-yard scorpion kick, Erlan Mealla's magical technique is the best example one writer has seen in almost two decades. The Bolivian Campeonato Clausura kicked off this weekend, with hilariously named "The Strongest" paying a visit to Nacional Potosi.
The visitors failed to live up to their overly confident name, however, succumbing 1-0 to a pretty incredible 20-yard scorpion kick by 23-year-old Nacional striker Erlan Mealla. It's almost certainly the most impressive example of scorpion kicking since insane Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita cleared Jamie Redknapp's meek cross-come-shot at Wembley in 1995.
This kind of silky skill should be expected from Bolivia: teams which play at high altitude have been scientifically proven to be better than their sea-level-dwelling counterparts.
